Almond Peanut Chia Seeds Smoothie

Breakfast smoothies are really a great way to start a day.  They are easy and hassle free on busy weekdays. I like green smoothies for lunch, but a lightly sweet smoothie is something I prefer for breakfast.

This is a simple and delicious smoothie that I usually make when I need a quick boost of energy.  Not only it tastes delicious, but it keeps me full for long time.  This smoothie is a a good source of protein after workout.  With minimal amount of ingredients and no processed sugar, this smoothie is a healthy option for breakfast.

Serves 1 Adult

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups - cold milk

2 tbsp - blanched almonds (soaked overnight and peeled)

2 tbsp - roasted peeled peanuts

3 - pitted medjool dates

1 tbsp - soaked chia seeds

Directions:

  • Blend everything together in a powerful blender.
  • Keep it chilled in the refrigerator until you drink it.
Notes:
  • This is a mildly sweet smoothie.  Adjust the amount of dates per you liking.
  • You can substitute the roasted peanut with 1.5 tbp peanut butter.  And you can make it vegan by substituting the milk with Almond milk or coconut milk.
